Team plan: inviting and managing people

How to start a Team, invite colleagues, use your seats, and what happens when someone leaves or the plan ends.

The Team plan costs £39 a month for up to 7 people, including you, or £29 a month for the first 100 customers or until 31 Jan 2027. Each person gets the Individual features, with up to 25 topics, plus a weekly team briefing and alerts to Slack or a webhook. See plans and pricing.

Starting a Team

  1. Sign in and open Team.
  2. Give your team a name.
  3. Start the 7-day free trial (no card needed), or add a card to start straight away.

The person who starts the team is the owner. Only the owner can invite or remove people, and only the owner can cancel the plan.

Inviting colleagues

On the Team page, enter a colleague's work email and press Invite. They get an email with a link to join.

  • The link works for 14 days. After that, send a new invite from the same page.
  • They must sign in with the same email address you invited. If they don't have an account yet, they can create one from the invite page.
  • A pending invite takes up a seat until it is accepted, removed or runs out.
  • Someone can only be in one team at a time.

If an invite email hasn't arrived, ask them to check their spam or junk folder, then send the invite again.

What each person keeps

Joining a team doesn't merge anyone's account. Each person keeps their own topics, followed bills, MPs and peers, and their own digest and alert settings.

The weekly team briefing

Every seat holder gets a team briefing by email on Mondays at 7am (UK time). It brings together what's new from everyone's topics and followed bills over the past week, with duplicates removed. It has no personal sign-in links, so you can forward it to colleagues. You can also open it at any time from the Team page.

Removing someone or leaving

  • The owner can remove a person, or cancel a pending invite, from the Team page. That frees the seat straight away.
  • A member can leave from the same page.
  • When someone leaves or is removed, they go back to their own plan. Their topics and follows are kept; anything over their own plan's limits is paused, not deleted.

The owner can't leave or be removed. To stop the team, the owner cancels the Team plan.

When the Team plan ends

If the owner cancels, or a Team trial ends without a card, everyone moves back to their own plan. Nothing is deleted. Anything over a person's own plan limits is paused and comes back if they join a team or subscribe again.

The Team plan has the same refund rules as the Individual plan: a full automatic refund if you cancel within 14 days of a payment (the first one or any renewal); after that, the plan stops at the end of the paid month with no refund, and a pro rata refund is only given on request through support. See billing and cancelling.
