Following topics
How topic matching works, how to follow topics, and what the Free plan includes.
A topic is a stored search. It tells TabledHQ what to look for and helps bring matching records into your account's alerts and digests.
Create a topic
- Sign in and open Topics.
- Choose New topic.
- Give the topic a clear name and enter the words or phrase you want to follow.
- Review the recent-match preview before you add it.
Use specific terms that describe the subject you care about. Avoid entering passwords, payment details or other personal or confidential information.
How matching works
TabledHQ checks new records against the topic's search expression and the title and text held for that record. A match can appear in your account and approved alerts or digests, with a link back to the original source record.
You can combine terms in a topic:
- AND means both terms must appear:
housing AND rent. - OR means either term can appear:
tenancy OR tenant. - NOT excludes a term:
housing NOT Scotland. - Quotation marks keep words together as a phrase:
"social housing".
The preview is there to help you make a topic more useful. A broad topic may produce many matches, while a narrow topic may produce few or none. A topic with no current matches does not prove that the source is empty or that future records cannot match.
Topic limits
The Free plan includes up to 2 topics. The current Free limit is 2 topics.
The Individual plan includes up to 10 topics. If you reach your plan's topic limit, the service shows the available upgrade path before another topic can be added.
Change or remove a topic
Open Topics, choose the topic, then select Edit to change its name or search expression. Select Delete and confirm if you no longer want to follow it.
Deleting a topic removes that stored search from your account. It does not delete the original Parliament or GOV.UK record.
If you move from Individual back to Free, TabledHQ does not delete anything you follow. Topics above the Free limit are paused until you upgrade again or remove enough topics to return within the limit.
Check the original source
